Colby was crowned "King for the Day" for earning a bunch of AR (Accelerated Reading) points and he literally got to do anything he wanted the entire day at school. One of the assistant principals interviewed him on the morning announcements, which his school video broadcasts to all of the classrooms. The principal told Colby to make sure to visit all of the Pre-K & Kindergarten classrooms because "they love to see royalty":) He said the best thing about the day was that he got to boss the teachers around. He told his teacher that he wanted his friend to come with him somewhere and she had to let him:) Colby helped out a bunch in the library. He visited Taylor's class a few times and read to them. Kids were bowing down to him. He didn't do any work in his classroom and any classroom he went into, the teacher stopped whatever they were doing and just made him feel like a million bucks. He was even allowed to run in the halls if he wanted to, but he said he didn't want to. I just think this was such a fun fun idea to reward these kids for reading!

Congrats Colby! What a great reward!!!! We are so proud of you and all your reading and writing. We love reading your books to Jay. He loves to read what his big cousin is writing about. What a great example you are!!! We love you!
Melanie, I think I'm going to run the 1/2 marathon in May!! :) David is already wanting to do a marathon in May in Beaumont and I'm assuming it's the same one.
That'd be fun to run the same one as you!! :)
