King for the Day!

Colby was crowned "King for the Day" for earning a bunch of AR (Accelerated Reading) points and he literally got to do anything he wanted the entire day at school. One of the assistant principals interviewed him on the morning announcements, which his school video broadcasts to all of the classrooms. The principal told Colby to make sure to visit all of the Pre-K & Kindergarten classrooms because "they love to see royalty":) He said the best thing about the day was that he got to boss the teachers around. He told his teacher that he wanted his friend to come with him somewhere and she had to let him:) Colby helped out a bunch in the library. He visited Taylor's class a few times and read to them. Kids were bowing down to him. He didn't do any work in his classroom and any classroom he went into, the teacher stopped whatever they were doing and just made him feel like a million bucks. He was even allowed to run in the halls if he wanted to, but he said he didn't want to. I just think this was such a fun fun idea to reward these kids for reading!

Snow Day in Texas... Again!

I'm going to try feeding my blog into Facebook for a little while. I don't have time to post pictures up on both anymore, but my digital scrapbooking/blog is more fun for me to maintain. Only very few people ever look at it:) I'm just not sure what I think about SO many people being linked to my blog. I guess we'll see!

Here are our pictures from the big snow day in Texas! Yes, those are Wal-mart sacks on my kids hands!! I have to admit, the snow would have been a lot more fun to play in if we had waterproof gloves and boots. But I guess it was exciting for the 30 minutes the kids lasted in the wet, cold!

I now have 2 kids in glasses!
