Two week update on Avalyn's rash: 48 hours after removing all milk ingredients from my diet, she was happier; a week and 2 days later - stools turned from green to mustard yellow; and here are some pictures of her from this morning. Her rash is almost gone! Thanks again for all of your help with this!

Blessing Day

Avalyn was blessed this morning in our church. A father's blessing is one of the most precious things I've been able to witness with the kids and I'm grateful to Jared for all that he is. Here are some things Jared blessed Avalyn with:

- That she will be able to remember where she came from and who she is... a daughter of God

- That she will be able to retain her health, both physically and spiritually

- That she will be able to turn to her Heavenly Father as she goes through trials and that she will remember how much He is willing to help

- That she will be an example to her siblings and a peacemaker in our home

- That she will be able to recognize the spirit and its promptings

- That she will be willing to serve others and recognize those that need a friend

Thanks to all who assisted in the blessing: Grandpa, Pappy Jack, Ryan, Shay, Damon, & Bishop Bauer and to all those that came to celebrate with us.

What's This??

For two weeks, Avalyn has had a terrible rash. At first, I thought it was baby acne. Last Thursday-ish, it started spreading to her back and her chest, so I took her to the pediatrician (who I don't like or trust and am switching) says it is "nothing to worry about". She said that it is seborrheic dermatitis, which is a form of dry skin and that the rash will go away when she is about 6 months old. What??? 6 months old!!! She told me that I can put hydrocortozone cream on it, but not too often because it can give her permant white spots on her skin.

Avalyn is very grouchy when she is awake and her stools are also green (they should be a mustard yellow). Has anybody reading this experienced similar symptoms with their baby?? I personally think that she may have some allergies to something I am eating. She is completely breastfed. The doctor said that she cannot be allergic to something I am eating (I've read plenty that says otherwise). Poor thing... it is so hard to see her look so terrible (it looks even worse in person).

Labor Day Fun With Family

Sunday afternoon get together - We found a great park with a pavilion... thankfully because...
it started pouring...But kids didn't care, of course... the rain just made it more fun!
Monday, we had a great private pool party at my dad's house. It was so fun! Thank you dad, for letting us use your place:)

Magical Day at the Park

A couple of weeks ago, the kids and I decided to have a picnic at a beautiful park. We ran into an old friend, who was so excited to share his fishing gear with us and needless to say, we couldn't have asked for a more magical day! It was fantastic.

Colby caught a fish!
Colby did not want to leave! He had so so much fun fishing! The boy scouts are putting on a fishing class and tournament in December at this park, so we've signed Colby up to participate.
Taylor caught a fish as well!
Halle, running to help feed the ducks.

Is she really big enough??

Halle started preschool today and she had no reservations. She's been waiting for this day for a long time:)With her teacher, Ms. Heather.
She was so upset on "Meet the Teacher" night that I didn't leave her at preschool. She was happy that she got to stay without me today :)
Also, if you're my friend on facebook... be sure to check out the new pictures of Avalyn. A friend of mine needed an infant to take pictures of for her portfolio & I was the lucky beneficiary!
