What's This??

For two weeks, Avalyn has had a terrible rash. At first, I thought it was baby acne. Last Thursday-ish, it started spreading to her back and her chest, so I took her to the pediatrician (who I don't like or trust and am switching) says it is "nothing to worry about". She said that it is seborrheic dermatitis, which is a form of dry skin and that the rash will go away when she is about 6 months old. What??? 6 months old!!! She told me that I can put hydrocortozone cream on it, but not too often because it can give her permant white spots on her skin.

Avalyn is very grouchy when she is awake and her stools are also green (they should be a mustard yellow). Has anybody reading this experienced similar symptoms with their baby?? I personally think that she may have some allergies to something I am eating. She is completely breastfed. The doctor said that she cannot be allergic to something I am eating (I've read plenty that says otherwise). Poor thing... it is so hard to see her look so terrible (it looks even worse in person).

I'd switch too!
Man I have no idea what that is but it seems a bit more than just sensitive dry skin to me.
Good luck figuring it out and I love all your updates :)

Yeah good idea to switch. Her rash kinda looks like hives. Has she recently had immunization shots maybe it's an allergy to something in the shots. After Braden's one year check up several days later he broke out into these crazy hives that ended up ALL over him! He was also taking amoxicillin at the time for an ear infection so that's what the doctor said the hives was from but he's taken amoxicillin since then and has been fine so it wasn't the medicine. I think it was from the chicken pox vaccine. Recently his new pediatrician suggested I take him to an allergist b/c there are a couple of things kids can be allergic to from vaccines. Well good luck!

I would get a second opinion for sure! Who is your doctor? We LOVE Noah's Dr. Cinco Ranch Pediatrics - Dr. Lentsch. She has been wonderful with Noah and all his ailments.

Let us know how it turns out!

poor Avalyn! Dilan had very bad baby acne (worst case her dr had ever seen) and that is not it! Definitely you are right about it being something else and something maybe another dr. could diagnose. She is so precious! :)

Wow! Poor baby. That looks like an allergic reaction to me. I would go see another doc!

Poor baby! Of course, I have no idea what it could be. Good luck in finding an answer, and I know you'll be able to. Poor little baby. :( Wishing you well for her though.
