Surviving Sixteen Miles

I haven't said anything because I didn't want to jinx myself - but the knee injury I wrote about a while back healed enough to start running again after only 2 1/2 weeks. I've continued my training & today was a mileage record for me - I ran 16 miles! I signed up for the San Fransisco Marathon on August 3rd and I am so excited because I think I am actually going to do it! I am sure I'll post a lot more after the actual event - but for now... a 5 week countdown and a picture from after my run this morning...

And, I just liked this picture of Halle... you can see her pretty blue eyes & perfectly placed freckles:)

Famous Youth

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints placed a series of video interviews on its web site to illustrate the differences between its own members in Texas and members of the isolated polygamous group who call themselves FLDS. Two of the videos are of young women I have been a leader over the past 6 years! I was so proud of them. If you want to see them, they are at http://newsroom.lds.org/ldsnewsroom/eng/news-releases-stories/church-seeks-to-address-public-confusion-over-texas-polygamy-group
A couple of the other videos are also of friends of ours so check them out!

I'll try to use the embed thing here - but if it takes too long to load - you might have better luck just downloading the videos.

Talent Show Videos

cThank you Paul for helping me figure out this video stuff! I should have given up because I spent way too much time on it today... So, everyone REALLY appreciate these - LOL! I guess it will be easier from now on. My kids love the Little Rascals movie & so when our friend had karaoke at their wedding reception... Colby & Taylor sang Nat King Cole's L-O-V-E on the stage. Colby's Kindergarten teacher was there and told Colby he should do it for the school talent show. And so - it led to this little performance with two girls in his class. The first video is half of his performance in front of all kindergarten classes ( I accidentally taped over the first half with Taylor's preschool stuff). The second video is the whole thing when he performed in front of the entire school. The kids have enjoyed listening to this song so much - I thought it would be cute to include Halle's rendition as well... She's just under two years old so it is adorable!

Grade Level Talent Show: (sorry... I didn't get the whole thing)

Memorial Day

Just got back from a week @ Girls Camp... and had more fun than I anticipated, as always. It was actually relaxing & I got to do all of the things I enjoy the most - lay out, hike, dance, teach, & eat a lot of food! We went to North Toledo Bend State Park & I would love to take my family back there this summer - it was very nice! Jared's DAT didn't go so well... we'll keep you posted but for now we're taking a short break from thinking about any of it. Here are some pics from our Memorial Day with Houston & Austin family. Also, some pics from when my sister Sara & her boyfriend Tim came to visit a few weeks ago. I PROMISE I will post the video of Colby's talent show today or tomorrow!
